Item#725—CFR 112.8(d)(3) Failed to design pipe supports to minimize abrasion/corrosion and to allow
for expansion/contraction.
The report cites corrosion of pipe supports and piping throughout the facility. Tesoro disputes this is a Class
II violation. Tesoro maintains there is no violation.
The pipe supports at the facility currently meet the requirement"to minimize abrasion and corrosion and
allow for expansion and contraction." § 112.8(d)(3). As explained during the inspection, prior to the
inspection,Tesoro proactively commenced a project to protect against future corrosion, including recoating
piping, installing I-Rod pipe support systems, and utilizing fiber reinforced plastic pads between the piping
and the pipe supports. Tesoro anticipates that this project will be complete in the first quarter of 2016.
E G E I V E L)
JAN 06 2510
ENVIRONMENTAL
HE'UH PPOAPTAAch"r
3
81017.000005 EMF US 58515617v6
