04/02/2001 ID Lz Pont Page 3 of 5
Product Usage Data Sheet - 12395S
coat to achieve flow. If additional flow and leveling are desired, add up to 5
- 10% of the appropriate ChromaPremierTM Reducer.
Tips for Success
Allow each coat to flash a full 15 minutes.
Flash/Dry Times
Flash between Coats 15 minutes.
Force Dry
Flash before Force Dry: 0 - 10 minutes
Force Dry Cycle Time: 30 minutes @ 140° F.
Dust Free: At cool down.
Time to Handle (Assemble) : 1 hour after cool down.
Time to Polish: 1 hour after cool dawn.
Time to Stripe: 1 hour after cool down.
Time to Deliver: 4 - 6 hours after cool down.
Two-Toning: 1 hour after cool down.
Infrared Dry: Refer to the Infrared Guide for specific
setup recommendations.
Blending
Panel repair is the approved procedure for single-stage warranty repairs. This
allows the refinisher to attain the recommended film builds. If the
refinisher chooses to blend, there are two techniques for blending
ChromaPremierTM Single-Stage, depending on the size of the repair area.
■ For limited blend areas use ChromaPremierTM Slow Reducer 12385S in a two-cup
procedure. Mix ready-to-spray ChromaPremierTM Single-Stage with 200 - 300%
reducer. With color in one cup and color/reducer in a second cup, apply the
first coat of color; then apply color/reducer mixture at the color edge
using reduced air pressure at the gun. Apply the second coat of color, and
again, blend the edge with the color/reducer mixture.
■ For extended blend areas, use ChromaClear(R) 78005 in a stepped-out
procedure. Activate 7800S normally, but over-reduce it with the appropriate
ChromaPremierTM Reducer 200 - 300%. To perform the blend, apply single-stage
color to hiding. In the last coat, mix the above over-reduced clear into the
ready-to-spray color at 1:1, and apply to the blend edge using reduced air
pressure at the gun. Finally, apply over-reduced clear by itself to the blend
edge.
Tips for Success
As an alternative to blending, apply ChromaPremierTM 72400S or ChromaClearTM
7800S over the single-stage repair out to the panel edge or styling line.
Recoatability/Re-repair
ChromaPremierTM Single-Stage may be recoated at any stage of dry or cure.
If recoating after 24 hours, scuff sand with 600 grit or finer.
Polishing
Optimum Times
Force Dry: 1 - 24 hours.
Sanding
Use 1500 grit wet or finer. Or use P1500 DA or finer.
