All markings on packaged, containerized, or bulk shipments shall conform <br /> to applicable laws and regulations, including requirements established by OSHA. Bulk <br /> quantities of product should be sealed with a uniquely numbered tamper-evident seal(s):' <br /> 4. Wear any and all required PPE. <br /> 5. Inspect transferring hoses, valves, and recipient containers for damage, plugging, or <br /> wear, and replace as necessary. <br /> 6. Have a trained attendant oversee the unloading of cargo tanks. This person must be <br /> alert and <br /> ■ have a clear view of the cargo tank, <br /> ■ be within 25 ft of the tank, <br /> ■ be aware of the hazards, <br /> ■ know the procedures to follow in an emergency, and <br /> ■ be authorized to move the cargo tank and be able to do so if necessary. <br /> 7. Inspect the actual container or pipe that the product should be loaded into and/or <br /> through, and be sure the receptacle is clear of all potential contaminants. <br /> 8. Unhook all loading/unloading connections before coupling, uncoupling, or moving a <br /> chemical cargo tank. Always chock trailers and semitrailers to prevent motion after the <br /> trailers are dropped. <br /> 9. Unless the engine must run a pump for product transfer, turn if off when loading or <br /> unloading. <br /> 10. Ground tanks correctly before filling them with flammable materials through an open <br /> filling hole. Ground the tank before opening the filling hole, and maintain the ground <br /> until the filling hole is closed. <br /> 11. Close all manholes and valves before moving a tank carrying hazardous materials. It <br /> does not matter how small the amount in the tank or how short the distance, manholes <br /> and valves must be closed. <br /> 12. Keep liquid discharge valves on a compressed gas tank closed except when loading and <br /> unloading. <br /> 13. Ensure that any necessary lockout/tagout procedures are followed. <br /> 14.
