'HEROKEE
<'REIGHT
TOCKTON
RECEIVED
0.4 2011
EW4r=NTAL HEALTH
rsRvlcss
INES =-
5463 CHEROKEE ROAD - STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA 95215-1100
PHONE (209) 931.3570 • FAX (209) 931.3979
www.godI.Com
10/08/2011
To Environmental Health Dept. San Joaquin County Office
Attn: Garrett Backus
Along with the return to compliance certification I am sending this letter to explain corrections to
violations found at our facility during the APSA program inspection. At Cherokee Freight Lines we go to
great lengths to stay in compliance with all state and local environmental rules and regulations.
We have ordered new secondary containment pallets with larger capacity for our 55 gallon oil drums.
Tank 11, located in the storage shed at the fuel island will be removed and replaced with either 55
gallon drums with secondary containment or a new smaller double wall tank that can be mounted away
from the wall to allow for inspection on all sides. We are also installing secondary containment for our
used anti -freeze tote (tank 6) and the skim tote (tank 10).
We are contracting David Montanez Builders Inc. to install additional secondary containment for our
unleaded fuel tank, They will also construct coverings for the secondary containment at the 250 gallon
totes (tanks 6 and 10).
As per our SPCC plan, along with the daily tank inspection we will be conducting monthly, quarterly and
annual inspections using the inspection forms provided in our SPCC plan. Also we are conducting yearly
training for discharge prevention and the contents of our SPCC plan. Training will be documented and
available for inspection by state and local inspectors.
I am completing a review of our SPCC plan, and will amend it to include the Federal rules using the web
sites provided by you. This should be done by this Thursday Nov 101h
I would like to thank you for your understanding. As you know these changes will not take place
overnight, however, I assure you that we take our environmental responsibilities very seriously and that
all these corrections will be completed as soon as possible.
If you have any questions or concerns, you can call me at 444-7325 or my cell at 649-3003.
Thank You
--- ................
Z
Steven nno
Cherokee Freight Lines Stockton
Purchasing
209-444-7325
Steve@gocfl.com
