Box 1429
Lathrop, CA 95330
ABOVEGROUND PETROLEUM STORAGE TANK INSPECTION,BROWN SAND
INCORPORATED —LATHROP, SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY
On 3 February 2000, I inspected the aboveground petroleum storage tanks at 800 Mossdale Road,
Lathrop. I found the convault (double-walled) 1,000-gallon gasoline tank and dispensing system to be
well maintained. However, the following items need to be addressed in order to come into compliance
with the Aboveground Petroleum Storage Act:
1. 5,000-Gallon, Steel Welded (Single-Walled)Diesel Tank. This tank is within a steel-framed
containment structure. There is free product at the base of the containment. The free product
needs to be cleaned up and the source of the leakage repaired.
2. 10,000-Gallon, Steel Welded (Single-Walled) Vertical Tank. This tank appears to be empty,
but you need to clarify its contents and purpose.
3. Better maintenance procedures are needed to eliminate leakages from the diesel tank area.
Please submit a status report on the corrective actions taken on these items of concern by 7 April 2000.
If you have any questions please call me at(916) 255-3029.
G.
