Market Street, Stockt6n
1.0 Introduction
1.1 Purpose
The goal of this work plan is to propose additional work to:
1. Identify the lateral extent of residual soil contamination resulting from a leak from a 1000
gallon gasoline tank removed in 1986.
2. Design and propose remediation for the soil contamination.
1.2 History
-
Custoin Food Machinery, Inc., (CFM) is the current occupant at 1881 E. Market Street, Stockton,
C& The property is owned by Plant K Partners, which is closely related to CFM. The property was
purchased form Tri Valley Growers, TVG in 1989. TVG had purchased the property from
bankruptcy proceedings of California Canners and Growers, (Cal Can)in 1985.
During the We of the property [TVG to Plant K Partners] it was determined that a 100 gallon
underground gasoline tank was located on the site and that the tank had leaked. TVG proceeded to
remove the tank and surrounding soil to what was believed tolibe acceptable and the hole was
backfilled, with soil and pea gravel. II
W February 27, 1992 the San Joaquin County Health rewtmLt notified TVG and CFM that
additional work was warranted at the site,
2.0 Previous Work, Soil Borings
2.1 General
On May 12, 1993 TVG and CFM co-financed a soil boring into the tank removal location.
