Samples will be refrigerated to <br /> approximately 4°C for shipping. Shipping containers w6be sealed with security tape to assure <br /># sample integrity during shipping. Delivered samples will be accompanied by a chain-of-custody <br /> record. The laboratory shall note on the chain-ofcustody that samples were properly <br /> preserved and security tape was intact upon arrival. <br /> 6.0 SAMPLING AND DRILLING EQUIPMENT DECONTAMINATION <br /> a' <br /> i All equipment used for drilling and sampling will be decontaminated prior to use. All equipment used <br /> for collection of more than one sample, such as bailers and spot ns, will be decontaminated between <br /> each use to prevent cross contamination between samples. Drilling equipment will be decontaminated <br /> prior to commencing drilling at each hole. Well construction materials will be cleaned as necessary, <br /> prior to installation. <br /> t Equipment and well material decontamination will be conducted on an impermeable surface and all <br /> ij. <br /> decontamination effluent will be contained. All surfaces of the equipment will be thoroughly <br /> I <br /> decontaminated using a steam cleaner. The equipment will be placed on a drying rack for air drying. <br /> !i <br /> The decontamination water will be stored in containers certified for hazardous materials storage and <br /> ! <br /> disposed of in an approved manner. <br /> 4 <br />
