of the wall sample area.
i
Fuel and Tank Areas in General
The most significant finding related to this investigation is the'total lack of contamination in any of
the 29 Push Bore samples. From various depths, 8 feet to 37 feet, all 29 samples were analyzed as s
non-detect for standard detection limits. All the evidence points to small amounts of gasoline
contamination located in shallow confined plumes. The low permeability layers, starting at
approximately 28 feet, will prevent any future movement of the deepest plume to groundwater levels.
No groundwater was encountered to a depth of 37 feet during',';this investigation.
I
Recommendations
It is the recommendation of this consultant that the tank excavation should be backfilled to finish
grades as soon as possible to eliminate the safety hazard. The contaminated spoil from the tank
_ excavation should be disposed of by removing from the site or,,retained on the site for reclamation.
This consultant recommends that this site be approved for closure and removed from the
contaminated site list. `
I
i
Please'contact Ervin Rifenburg of this office (209/368-9381) if any questions arise concerning these
recommendations or the facts contained in this report.
it I `I
ft i
Respec sub itt RIFE , `
4v,
No. 1 ''
Foothill En i eerin >
!
