P. s=3
Fax: 464-0138 a
Date by
Subject: Sun West Liquors, 2449 W_ Kettleman Lane, Lodi, CA
Request to Re-sample Portions of the UST Excavation
bear Sir:
The underground soil investigation described in the Sun Westf Liquors Work Plan of July 22, 1998
has been completed.
Twenty-eight samples were retrieved from the planned push bores, and all were analyzed in an on site
laboratory and found to be below detection limits.
E
To further define the limits of the contamination detected daring the UST removal, we propose to
red sample and retest the soil directly under the south end of Tank 113;' as well as the north side wall
of the same tante. The sampling would be to a depth of twenty; feet and limited to the area that can
be reached in a safe manner by a John Jeer 690 Excavator. Samples will be extracted by hand driven
sampler from excavation spoil.
t
Samples will be transported under ice to an approved state certified laboratory for analysis.. Sample&
will be analyzed by EPA methods 8070 (BETS), and 503MUFT (TPH Gasoline). Samples selected
by the PHS/EftD inspector on the site will be analyzed for oxygenates by EPA method 8260. Soil
sa€nples will not be analyzed for lead, as tank pull samples indicate that none of the contaminated
areas contain lead above detectable levels.
Please contact Ervin Rifenburg of this office (2091368-9381) if any questions arise concerning this
request to re-sample.
Respectfully submitted,
