2449 W. fKettleman Lane _ 2 _
Lodi, San Joaquin County 2 November 1998
Summary:
The lateral and vertical extent of soil contamination has been
defined at this site. Soil samples collected
during the UST removal activities revealed elevated concentrations of petroleum constituents.
Subsequent overexcavation confirmation soil sampling revealed low concentrations of TPHg, toluene, )
ethylbenzene and total xylenes remaining in soil below the former location of UST #3. The highest
a
concentrations of contaminants, located between 14 and 21 feet bgs, were removed during
overexcavation activities. Benzene and the fuel oxygenates were'inot detected above laboratory reporting
limits in any of the soil boring or confirmation soil overexcavation samples.
Groundwater was not encountered during soil investigation activities. Based on the provided
- _information, the residual soil ,contamination:is limited-in_bothaerticaLand_lateral extent.to.the.area near—
~ and below, former UST #3. Contamination remaining in soil is unlikely to pose a threat to water quality.
I agree with the SJCEHD determination of No Further Action Required at the Sun West Liquors site.
I
I
i
i
