1,C\TATC
ASSOCIATES I N C .
Groundwater Pumping Test Report
' Sunwest Liquors
2449 West Kettleman Lane
' Lodi, California
ATC Project No. 54.25957.0001
1
1.0 INTRODUCTION
' ATC Associates Inc. has prepared this Groundwater Pumping test Report on behalf of Sunwest
Liquors to summarize findings of the groundwater extraction pilot test at the above referenced
' site. The purpose of the pilot test was to evaluate if groundwater extraction is a viable remedial
option for remediating petroleum impacted groundwater in the vicinity of the former
' underground storage tanks (USTs). This work was done at the request of San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department (SJCEHD). The findings of the pilot study are summarized in
the following paragraphs.
1.11 Site Location
The site is located on the northeast corner of the intersection of West Kettleman Lane and Lower
Sacramento Road on the west side of the City of Lodi, California, as shown on Figure 1. The
location is a commercial and residential area. The site is currently occupied by a-Starbuck's
1 Coffee.
1.2 Back round
1 On July 10, 1998, Thorpe Oil removed three gasoline USTs from the site. Soil samples taken
from the excavation of the USTs and the related dispenser piping indicated that the soil was
' impacted with petroleum hydrocarbons.
In August 1998, Geomatrix Consultants advanced four soil borings to determine the vertical and
horizontal extent of the petroleum hydrocarbon plume. One of these soil borings, approximately
25 feet south of the UST excavation, was completed as groundwater monitoring well GMX-1.
In June 1999, Foothill Engineering supervised the advancement of three-additional soil borings;
which were completed as groundwater monitoring wells MW-2, MW-3, and MW-4. From July
' 1999 to the date of this report, quarterly monitoring was conducted under the supervision of
Foothill Engineering.
wi25957Veportslpumptest.doc I
