Kettleman Lane, Lodi, CA LOP Site code: 503357
Dear Sir:
Please find below a report on the groundwater sampling of monitoring wells for Sunwest Liquors.
GROUNDWATER MONITORING REPORT FOR THE THIRD QUARTER
8/29/2000
SUN WEST LIQUORS
. History
On 7/10/1998 Thorpe Oil of Lodi, California removed the three gasoline USTs from the Sun West
Property. Soil samples from underneath the USTs and the dispenser piping indicated that some leaks had
occurred during the life of the gasoline sales operation. Foothill Engineering did a site investigation to
determine the vertical and horizontal extent of the gasoline contamination on 8/13/1998 and 8/21/1998.
A listing of the results of analysis of the soil samples is attached.
Geomatrix installed the monitoring well GMX 1 at a location+/-25 feet south of the UST excavation and
sampled first groundwater. That analysis is attached. Geomatrix also made three soil borings (GB#1,
GB#2, and GB#3) with both soil samples and groundwater samples extracted (see attached map for
location). All samples on GB#l, GB#2, and GB#3 were non-detect for all compounds analyzed (see
attached recaps of data).
The work plan of 5/24/99 called for the installation of three soil borings to be located on the Sun West
Liquor property and the possible installation of a fourth soil boring on the south side of Kettleman Lane.
Soil samples were to be extracted at predetermined depths for laboratory analysis. A monitoring well to
sample ground water was to be constructed in each of the soil borings.
The first groundwater monitoring event occurred on 7112199. The second event occurred on.10/08/99 and. _
the third event was on 2/17/2000. This fourth monitoring event was completed on 8/29/2000 and the
following is a report of the findings.
Sampling Procedure
Monitoring wells were vented and purged by normal methods per standards of the industry (see
Groundwater field Report by Del-Tech Geotechnical Services attached). Purge pump rates were +1-0.5
1
