♦1
MTBE concentrations in monitoring wells EW-1,MW-2,MW-3,and MW-4 continue to be non-detect.
Monitoring well GMX-1 has developed trace amounts of MTBE, 7.3ppb. TPHg has decreased
dramatically in EW-1(80%),GMX-1(96%),and MW-2(69%). TPHg has remained non-detect in MW-3,
and MW-4. BTEX compounds have decreased dramatically in EW-1(61%), GMX-1(98%), and MW-
2(80%). The BTEX compounds remain non-detect in wells MW-3, and MW-4.
Samples from the extraction well indicate that TPHg has dropped 80% and BTEX compounds have
dropped 96 to 100%.
The proposed clean up levels from the approved "Final Remedial Plan" and the average remaining
concentrations are as follows:
Compound Concentration Goals Averse Remaining, Concentrations
Benzene 0.005mg/L ND
MTBE 0.001 mg/L 0.0015mg/L
TPHg 2.Omg/L 0.00087mg/L
All together 842,626 gallons of water had been removed and treated to non-detect. The total estimated
mass of TPHg on 6/11/02 was 27.2 Kg(9.75ga1). The estimated mass of TPHg remaining after pump and
treat is 2.05Kg(0.73gal). The estimated mass of TPHg removed was 25.15Kg (9.02gal). This is a 92%
reduction in total mass of TPHg.
After recovery from pump and treat the groundwater surface was 1.5'lower than the level in March,2004.
The direction of flow was South-East with a slope of S=0.0016.
Conclusions
The dramatic reduction in pollutant concentration is attributed to the pump and treat process. Pumping
has brought the plume to the surface for treatment and disposal. All remaining constituents have been
brought within the EPA's drinking water standards.
Request for No Further Action
Foothill Engineering recommends that the San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental
Health Department issue a letter stating no further action is required for this site.
Please contact Mike Vlach at(916) 729-5184 if any questions arise concerning this report.
Respectfully submitted,
QRoFESS! c
Foothill Engineerin 0 RU Fy
57707
* EXP.12-31-05
Mike Vlach, P.E. sT crvs ,
9I ",-" ,Gni '71I3lL4y
• Attachments:Groundwater sample Analysis Recap,Site Map,Del-Tech Field Report,Laboratory Reports
cc: Diana Maragos, Attorney for Sun West Liquors, W.
