i- Gh
Work Plan for Additional Excavation
July 27, 1992
A & M Market, Acampo, California QEC 92-120-1W
r
,I
* interpret field and laboratory data to evaluate the site for the presence of
subsurface hydrocarbons.
i
• prepare a report summarizing methods, procedures, and findings of the tank
cavity excavation; the report will present the;results of laboratory analyses and
our recommendations for additional work, if necessary.
If results of soil samples collected from the base of the tank cavity indicate that
concentrations of hydrocarbons remaining in place are acceptable to the SJCLHD, the tank
cavity will be backfilled. We understand that analytical;results of soil samples collected
from the approximately 100-cubic-yard soil stockpile indicate that it is acceptable to the
SJCLHD to use approximately 75 cubic yards of the stockpile as tank cavity backfill. With
the authorization of the San Joaquin County Air Pollution Control District, the remaining
50 cubic yards of soil will be aerated. Following a period of aeration we will collect two
discrete soil samples from the aerated soil. If hydrocarbons are not detected in the samples
of aerated soil, this soil may be used as tank cavity backfill'. Additional soil excavated from
the tank cavity will be stockpiled at the site near the present stockpiles and covered with
plastic sheeting. This soil will be segregated from the existing stockpiles. One discrete soil
sample will be collected from each additional 25 cubic yards of excavated soil to
characterize the soil for disposal. 1
'I
I
i
i
4I
f
3
r
r
4
