(URSGWC), on behalf of the State of California - Real Estate Services
Division(RESD),is pleased to present this report summarizing the 1lsoil and groundwater investigation conducted
at the California Highway Patrol(CHP)facility located at 3330 North Ad Art Road in Stockton,California(Site).
This report has been prepared on behalf of the RESD under Contract No. 3014214.
I
BACKGROUND
A soil investigation was conducted by Alton Geosciences in March 1999 to comply with underground storage 1
tank (UST)upgrading requirements. The investigation included 11 drilling and sampling four soil borings. The
borings were extended to approximately 25 feet below ground surface(bgs). One soil sample was collected at
25 feet bgs from each boring and submitted for laboratory analyses of total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline "
(TPH-G);benzene, toluene,ethylbenzene,and xylenes (BTEX);and methyl tertiary butyl ether(MTBE). The
analytical results reported concentrations of MTBE in two soil samples(132 and B4)at concentrations of 0.008
and 0.007 milligrams per kilogram. TPH-G and BTEX were not detected in any of the four samples. Based on J
these analytical results, the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Division(SJCEHD)requested that a soil
and groundwater investigation be conducted at the Site. The workplan was submitted to SJCEHD on March 13,
2000 and approved by SJCEHD on March 31,2000. Fieldwork was delayed so the UST could be removed from
the Site. The UST was removed by SEMCO on May 25, 2000. Analytical results for soil samples collected
following the UST removal were non-detect. t
SITE INVESTIGATION ACTIVITIES
Prior to drilling activities, URSGWC submitted a drilling permit application and fee to the SJCEHD. An
approved permit was received for the drilling activities. The field activities were completed on June 20 and 21,
2000 with no significant deviations from the approved workplan.l.
p
I:114214103_StocktonU071800.wpd
