Ms. Mary Meays
San Joaquin County
December 6, 1994
Page 3
Groundwater Monitoring Analytical Results - The analytical results are presented on Table i
together with the results from the three previous quarters. No petroleum hydrocarbon-related
constituents were detected above analytical method reporting limits during this most recent
sampling period nor during the first and second quarters of this year. Only a trace level of diesel
was detected during the initial sampling (October 1993). These results, together with previous
submittals to the San Joaquin County Public Health Service Agency, indicate that the previously
implemented remedial actions, and naturally occurring degradation, have successfully remediated
the petroleum hydrocarbon-related groundwater conditions at 4110 Industrial Way.
We recommend that the Agency consider this site for administrative closure. In anticipation and
in compliance with the Agency's request for specific additional information, we have compiled and
presented this data in the following section.
Closure Documentation - This data section has been formatted to directly complement the
outline presented in Appendix B of the Central Valley Regional Water Board's (CVRWB)
"Recommendations for Closure Requests" dated I March 1994. The numbering is consistent with
that in the CVRWB document.
1. " Distance to production wells for municipal, domestic, agriculture, industry
and other uses within 2000 feet of the site" (CVRWB)
This information is illustrated on Figure 3 and additional well data is presented on Table 2.
2. "Site maps, to scale, of area impacted showing locations of former and
existing tank systems, elevation contours, gradients, and nearby surface waters,
buildings, streets, and subsurface utilities"
Site maps are presented as Figure 2 of this report and Figures lb and 2 in the well
installation report (dated November 18, 1994) presented in Attachment D.
3. "High and low ground water levels (below ground surface)"
Groundwater was encountered during drilling for monitoring well MW-1, on September
29, 1993, at a depth of 13.2 feet below ground surface. The stabilized water level was
measured at about 10.5 feet on October 4, 1993 and 9.9 feet on September 29, 1994.
4. "Tabulated results of all sampling and analyses"
All results for groundwater collected from monitoring well MW-1 are presented in Table 1
of this report and the analytical results for soil and groundwater collected subsequent to
