TREADWELL & ROLLO <br /> After carefully packaging the samples into ice-cooled chests for transfer to the <br /> laboratory, the field sampler will sign the Chain-of-Custody Record and record the time <br /> and the date The Chain-of-Custody Record will accompany the sample containers. <br /> The sampler must also sign the bottom of the Cham-of-Custody Record, releasing the <br /> samples to either another Treadwell & Rollo, Inc representative or a couner delivering <br /> the samples, or to the laboratory representative. Any blank space on the <br /> Cham-of-Custody Record between last sample number listed and signatures at the <br /> bottom of the sheet will be crossed out as will unused blank signature blocks <br /> When shipping the containers by a common carrier, a Bill of Landing is used Receipts <br /> of Bill of Landing are retained as part of the permanent documentation in the project <br /> file <br /> 5.0 EQUIPMENT CLEANING <br /> Sample bottles and bottle caps will be cleaned by the analytical laboratory subcontractor <br /> using standard EPA-approved protocols Sample bottles and bottle caps will be <br /> protected from solvent contact, dust or other contamination between time of receipt by <br /> Treadwell & Rollo, Inc and time of actual usage at the sampling site <br /> If dedicated sampling equipment is used, it will be cleaned prior to its initial introduction <br /> into the well. <br /> Sampling equipment to be reused will be cleaned after sampling of each well is <br /> completed. Thermometers, pH electrodes, and conductivity probes that are used <br /> repeatedly shall also be cleaned after sampling of each well <br /> Minimum cleamng procedures shall be accomplished as follows: <br /> I <br /> o Scrub with a detergent-potable water solution or other solutions deemed <br /> appropriate using a hard bristle brush, <br /> o rinse with clean potable water, <br /> o rinse with deionized water, <br /> o air dry, and <br /> o package and seal equipment in plastic bags or other appropriate containers to <br /> prevent contact with solvents, dust or other contaminants. <br /> • A-7 <br /> 110707(}9 PJC 1 April 1994 <br />
