The <br /> available records indicated that the tank- was removed from the <br /> site and disposed of properly. <br /> ' k <br /> A soil sample collected from beneath!�the west end of the <br /> tank contained 31,400 mg/kg t9tal. petrole' rn, hydrocarbons - G <br /> E gasoline (TPH-G) . Benzene was detected at �150 mg/kg. The soil <br /> i <br /> sample collected from beneath the east end ofthetank contained <br /> no petroleum hydrocarbons at the reportedflaboratory detection <br /> limit. Due to the high concentrations ofgasoline residue <br />' i'I <br /> i - detected in the sample taken beneath the west end of the former <br /> f tank, furtherinvestigation was necessaryito identify the limits <br /> r of contamination. <br /> ii <br /> ii 3. 0 INVESTIGATION ii r <br /> - On January 8, 1992, two soil boringsi;were drilled near the } <br /> west end of the formertank site by Spec rum Ex loration, Inc. , <br /> P <br /> (license #512258) , of Stockton, California (Appendix A, Figure <br /> 2) . Soil boringpermits were obtained throw h San Joaquin Count <br /> P g qu Y <br /> prior to drilling. James Wack and Marc Crum of Condor were on <br /> site to monitor drilling activities and. collect soil samples . <br /> Linda Turkatte of the San Joaquin County Environmental Health <br /> Department was on site to observe the drilling procedures .
