I Site Closure Report
March 27, 1992
} _ Page _ 2_
1 2 .0 HISTORY
On June .4, 1991, one 1,000--gallon underground gasoline
storage tank was removed from the East Ada Avenue site by -Jim
Thorpe Oil Inc. , of Lodi, California (Appendix A, Figure 2) . The
available records indicated that .the tank' was removed from the }
site and_disposed of properly.'
- I
A soil sample collected from beneath the west end of the
{ tank contained 31,400 mg/kg total petroleum hydrocarbons -
gasoline (TPH-G) . Benzene was detected at°1150 mg/kg. The soil t
sample collected from beneath the east end of the tank contained
i no petroleum hydrocarbons at the reported'ilaboratory detection
limit. Due to the high concentrations of .gasoline residue
detected in the sample taken beneath the west end of the former
tank, further investigation was :necessarylto identify the limits
of contamination (Site Contamination Workplan, 11273 East Ada
Avenue, prepared by Condor Earth Technologies,-_Inc. , 10/9/91) .
On January 8, 1992, two soil boringsl`(SB1 and SB2) were
drilled near the west end of the locationlof the former tank k
(Appendix A, Figure 2) . Condor geologists were on site to
i
supervise the drilling operation. SBI was drilled to a total
depth of 40 feet and SB2 was drilled to ahtotal depth of 50 feet.
Soil samples were collected at five foot intervals. No petroleum i
odors or staining were noted in the soil samples or drill
Ikk CONDOR 1
I
