Three
monitoring wells and a fourth soil boring were installed at the above -referenced site in June
2002. A report of the well installation and initial sampling, the Preliminary Investigation and
Evaluation Report dated November 8, 2002 prepared by the responsible party's (RP)
consultant, Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (AGE), was submitted to San Joaquin
County Environmental Health Department (EHD). Quarterly sampling has not been
conducted and quarterly reports have not been submitted to EHD since performance of the
initial work in June 2002 and submission in November 2002 the corresponding report, the
Preliminary Investigation and Evaluation Report dated November 8, 2002 prepared by AGE.
Analytical results of the soil and groundwater samples from the June 2002 work included in
the report confirmed the presence of contamination in soil and in groundwater. Analtyical
results of the soil samples collected from soil boring B1 were 6,100 milligrams per kilograms
(mg/kg) of Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPH-g) at 20 feet below surface
grade (bsg), and 2,800 mg/kg of TPH-g at 30 feet bsg. Contaminants were detected in
groundwater samples collected from all three monitoring wells. Analytical results of the
water samples from MW -2 were 56,000 micrograms per liter (ug/1) of TPH-g, 24,000 ug/1 of
benzene, and 100 ug/1 of methyl tert butyl alcohol (MTBE), and from MW -3 the results
were 55,000 ug/1 of TPH-g, 21,000 ug/1 of benzene, 4,000 ug/1 of MTBE, and 61 ug/l of
