31 August 2005
AGE -NC Project No. 02-0918
concentrations of 180 µg/1 in MW -1, 6,000 µg/1 in MW -2 and 3,700 µg11 in MW -3.
TAME and 1,2 -DCA were detected in the ground water samples collected from wells MW -2 and
MW -3 at concentrations of 63 µg/1 and 44 µg/l, respectively in MW -2, and 57 µg/1 and 43 µg/l,
respectively in MW -3.
No other analytes were detected at or above laboratory detection limits in the ground water samples
analyzed. The analytical results of the ground water samples collected on 02 .lune 2005 are
summarized in Table 2. A plane view map depicting the lateral extent of dissolved petroleum
hydrocarbon contamination is illustrated on Figure 4. The laboratory report (CTEL Project No.
CT214-0506037), quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) reports and chain of custody form are
included in Appendix C.
4.0. SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS
Based on the data collected from the site, AGE concludes:
• The ground water elevations ranged from 26.45 to 26.55 feet below MSL. Net ground water
flow was inferred to be flowing towards the southeast at a gradient of 0.002 ft/ft.
• TPH-g and MTBE were detected in the ground water samples collected from wells MW -1
through MW -3. BTEX constituents were detected in wells MW -2 and MW -3.
• TAME and 1,2 -DCA were detected in the ground water samples collected from wells MW -2
and MW -3.
• BTEX constituents appear to be defined to the east at MW -1. Otherwise, petroleum
hydrocarbon -impact to ground water is not defined in any direction.
5.0. RECOMMENDATIONS
Based on the findings of the environmental activities recounted in this report, AGE recommends:
• Continuation of the quarterly monitoring program with the next monitoring event will be
scheduled for September 2005 and
• Additional site assessment of dissolved hydrocarbons and lateral extent of adsorbed
contamination.
Advanced GeoEnvlronmental, Inc.
