At least one monitoring well boring should be continuously cored to provide geological
information on where to set the monitoring well screen rather than using an arbitrary 35 to 55
feet bsg. Additional continuous cores also should be considered based on field conditions.
2. Submit soil samples from each significantly different lithological unit for soil physical
characteristics analyses (i.e.dry bulk density, permeability, porosity, moisture, and carbon
content)
3. Selection of soil samples for analyses must include San Joaquin County Environmental Health
Department(EHD) comment and agreement.
4. The investigation/well installation report must include cross-sections of the geology and
contamination concentration contour.
5. A properly calibrated and working photo-ionizing detector must be used for field screening.
6_ Implement proposed work by June 23,2003
REASONS FOR DISAPPROVAL OF THE WORKPLAN (H&S 25299.37,subd.(c)(3).):
None
Donna Heran,RENS,Director
Environmental Health Division
iffr'y4'eg7, 'Wor REHS Nuel C.Henderson,Jr.,RG
LOP/Site Mitigation Unit IV t7 LOP/Site Mitigation Unit IV
C: RWQCB,Central Valley Region—James L.L.Barton,RG !
C: Horizon Environmental,Inc.—Gary D.Barker r'
