INTRODUCTION <br /> At the request of Mr Sam Abdo of ZE Auto Repan',Advanced GeoEnvi'onmental, Inc (AGE) has <br /> prepared this Additional Subsurface Investigation Report for 2255 South Airport Way, Stockton, <br /> California The scope of work included advancement of one soil probe boring, the collection and <br /> analysis of soil and ground water samples and preparation of this report The location of the site and <br />' its surroundings are Illustrated on Figure 1 Mayor features and soil boring locations on the site are <br /> illustrated on Figure 2 <br /> This investigation was performed m accordance with guidelines issued by the Central" Valley <br /> Regional Water Quality Control Board(RWQCB) for the investigation of underground storage tank <br /> (UST) sates <br /> 2.0. BACKGROUND <br />� i <br /> The site Is located in a topographically flat area of Stockton, California (Figure 1), at northwest <br /> corner of the intersection of South Airport Way and 9th Street, It is presently utilized as an <br /> automobile repair facility Underground storage tanks (USTs) were formerly located at the property <br /> It as our understanding the site operated as a Beacon gasoline station between the 1950s and <br /> approximately 1982 In June 2002, AGE conducted a preliminary subsurface investigation at the site <br /> Six probe borings were advanced in the former UST excavation and near four former dispenser <br /> locations Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasolme (TPH-g) and purgeable aromatics <br />' including benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and total xylenes (BTEX) were detected in soil samples <br /> collected from one boring advanced near,a former dispenser island Procedures and results of the <br /> preliminary investigation were presented in the AGE-prepared Phase II Site Assessment Report, <br /> dated 02 July 2002 „ <br /> 21 REGIONAL GEOLOGIC/HYDROGEOLOGIC SETTING <br /> f <br />' The site is s`Ituated within the Great Valley Geomorphic Province of California., a large, elongate, <br /> northwest trending, asymmetric structural trough The Great Valley Province has been filled with <br /> thick sequences of sediment ranging in age from Jurassic to Recent, creating a nearly flat- lying <br />' alluvial plain, extending from the Tehachapi Mountains in the south to the Klamath Mountains in <br /> the north The western and eastern boundaries of this province are comprised of the California Coast <br /> Range and the Sierra Nevada, respectively Rocks composing the basement complex of the province <br />' have not been completely defined but are believed to be metamorphic and igneous m orngin The <br />' Advanced GeoEnvlronmentan,Inc <br />
