1, <br /> 02 July 2002 <br /> AGE-NC Project No 02-0913 <br /> Page 2 of 4 <br /> The soil probe bonngs were advanced utilizing a truck-mounted Geoprobe 5400 equipped with <br /> 1125-inch diameter probe rods using "direct push" technology Probe borings P-1 and P-2 were <br /> advanced vertically at the former UST location to depths of 30 feet below surface grade(bsg) Probe <br /> borings P-3,P-5 and P-6 were advanced vertically at the former dispenser islands to depths of 10 feet <br /> bsg, probe boring P-4 was advanced vertically at the former dispenser islands to a depth of 15 feet <br /> bsg <br /> Soil samples were collected at 5-foot intervals to total depth in each boring Each sample was <br /> collected utilizing a 1 125-inch Geoprobe soil sampling assembly loaded with four six-inch brass <br /> sleeves After collection, the ends of the second brass sleeve were covered with Teflon sheets, <br /> capped and sealed with tape Each sample sleeve was labeled with soil probe boring location, depth, <br /> time, date and sampler's initials and then placed in a chilled container The samples were then <br /> shipped under chain-of-custody to an analytical laboratory for analysis <br /> Following sample collection,probe borings were backfilled to surface grade with Portland cement <br /> EQUIPMENT DECONTAMINATION <br /> • <br /> Prior to sample collection,the Geoprobe soil sampling equipment was thoroughly rinsed with clean <br /> water after being washed with a solution of Alconox Geoprobe rods were thoroughly cleaned prior <br /> to soil probe boring advancement <br /> ANALYTICAL METHODS <br /> Select soil samples were transported to Cal Tech Environmental Laboratories(CTEL), a California <br /> Department of Health Services-certified laboratory,for analysis Soil samples P 1-20,P2-20,P3-10, <br /> P4-10, P4-15, P5-10 and P6-10 were analyzed for the following <br /> • Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g) in accordance with EPA <br /> Method 8015 Modified, <br /> • Benzene,toluene, ethylbenzene and total xylenes(BTEX)and the oxygenated ether methyl- <br /> tertiary-butyl ether (MTBE) in accordance with EPA Method 8021, and <br /> • The fuel additives MTBE, tertiary-butyl alcohol (TBA), di-isopropyl ether (RIPE), ethyl <br /> tertiary-butyl ether(ETBE),tertiary-amyl methyl ether(TAME), 1,2-dibromoethane(EDB), <br /> and 1,2-dichloro ethane (1,2-DCA) in accordance with EPA Method 8260B <br /> i - <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmentai,Inc <br />
