Lim <br /> GROUNDWATER r , - <br /> iC:: <br /> 1_100 TECHNOLOGY Groundwater Technology,Inc <br /> 1401 Halyard Drive,Suite 140,West Sacramento,CA 95691 USA <br /> Tel (916)372-4700 Fax (916)372-8781 <br /> January 15, 1996 <br /> Ms Mary Meays <br /> San Joaquin County Public Health Services <br /> Enmronmental Health Division <br /> 304 E Weber Avenue, Floor 3 <br /> P O Box 388 <br /> Stockton, California 95201-0388 <br /> Subject Request for Site Closure <br /> Former Chevron Service Station#9-5075 <br /> 2400/2405 Airport Way <br /> Stockton, California <br /> GTI Project 02070 0189 <br /> Dear Ms Meays <br /> Groundwater Technology, Inc submits this letter as a request for site closure for the former Chevron <br /> service station located at 2400/2405 Airport Way, Stockton, California (Figure 1) Based on the data <br /> provided herein, no further action is required at this time with regard to environmental activities at the <br /> site This letter and attachments are assembled to correspond with the guidance provided in <br /> Appendix B of the Tri-Regional Board Staff Recommendahons For Preliminary Evaluation and <br /> Investigation of Underground Storage Tanks(CRWQCB-NCR, SFB, CVR, 1990) Data provided in this <br /> document indicate that hydrocarbon-impacted soil left in place is of minimal volume and does not <br /> threaten current and potential beneficial uses of groundwater <br /> SITE HISTORY <br /> The site is currently a vacant lot located at the southwest corner of 10th Street and Airport Way in <br /> Stockton, California (Figures 1 and 2) In 1956 the original service station budding was constructed <br /> Underground storage tanks(USTs) installed at the time of construction included one 6,000-gallon and <br /> one 4,000-gallon gasoline UST, and one 550-gallon used-oil UST According to Stockton Fire <br /> Department records, all USTs were removed from the site during station dismantling activities (Versar, <br /> 1989a) <br /> Versar performed an environmental assessment of the site in 1989 which included a soil vapor survey <br /> as well as the drilling of sod borings BH-1, BH-2 and BH-3 The soil vapor survey was conducted two <br /> feet below surface at 10 locations throughout the site Although organic sod vapor readings of up to <br /> P0189ciDs Ghv 56 <br /> 7 rP� ) <br /> Offices throughout the U S,Canada and Overseas <br />
