' Page 5 U
Ms. Vicki McCartney, REHS
February 20, 2004
Upon approval of this Plan, quarterly groundwater monitoring will be re-initiated at the
Earthgrains facility until directed otherwise by EHD. Groundwater levels will be measured in
every site well and those wells designated for sampling will be purged a minimum of three
volumes before collecting a sample with a dedicated bailer. Wells proposed for sample collection
include MW -1, MW -2, MW -4, MW -5, MW -7, MW -8, MW -12, MW -13, SP -1, SP -2, SP -4, PZ -1
and PZ -2, which should provide a suitable estimate of petroleum hydrocarbon impact in
groundwater. Groundwater samples will be capped, labeled, stored in an iced chest, and
subsequently delivered under chain of custody to an analytical laboratory for chemical testing.
Groundwater samples would be analyzed for BTEX, TPH-G, MTBE; TBA, DIPE, ETBA,
TAME, 1,2 -DCA and EDB.
Reporting
Data from the subsurface investigation and the first round of groundwater monitoring will be
submitted to EHD in the context of an SCM as described in their January 9, 2004
correspondence. This SCM will be signed and stamped by a California professional engineer or
. registered geologist.
CLOSING
EHD's cooperation and assistance at this facility is appreciated.
