KLEINFELDER <br /> 2 GROUNDWATER MONITORING <br /> • <br /> Quarterly groundwater monitoring was performed under the direction of the September <br /> 24, 2004 SJCEHD letter approving the recommendations in the PSC June 2004 Site <br /> Investigation Report PSC's subcontractor Kleinfelder performed the groundwater <br /> monitoring on April 25-26, 2005 The data are presented in the following sections <br /> Tables for groundwater elevations, well depths, and analytical results are included as <br /> attached Tables Contour maps for groundwater elevations, benzene concentrations, <br /> and TPH-G concentrations are included as attached Figures Field data forms are <br /> ' included in Appendix A Laboratory analytical reports are included in Appendix B <br /> t 2 1 GROUNDWATER MONITORING PROCEDURES <br /> ' Groundwater elevations and total depth measurements were obtained from 13 <br /> monitoring wells (MW)s (MW-1 through MW--13), two sparging wells (SP-1 and SP-2), <br /> and two piezometers (PZ-1 and PZ-2) The vent well (VW-1) was not measured Well <br /> depths, groundwater levels, and the potential presence of free-phase gasoline product <br /> were measured in each well prior to sampling utilizing an electronic oil/water interface <br /> probe and/or electronic water level indicator In addition, prior to purging the wells, the <br /> first bailer of purge water was visually observed for free product <br /> Groundwater samples were collected and submitted for analysis from the following <br /> locations MW-1, MW-5, MW-7, MW-8, MWA 0, MWA 1, MWA 2, SPA, SP-2, SP-3, SP- <br /> 4, SP-5, SP-6, PZ-1, and PZ-2 <br /> Prior to sample collection, the wells were purged a minimum of three-well-casing <br /> volumes with a dedicated bailer to collect a representative sample The purged water <br /> ' was monitored for stability via the field parameters of pH, conductivity, temperature, and <br /> the visual observation of water clarity The purged water was stored in 55-gallon drums <br /> ' and the drums were transported to PSC's licensed waste disposal facility <br /> Upon purging the appropriate volume of groundwater, sample aliquots were retrieved <br /> and placed in laboratory provided containers The containers were properly labeled and <br /> stored in an iced chest under chain-of-custody The samples were then submitted to <br /> C23-484517-BOO/SAC5R609 Page 7 of 12 September 14, 2005 <br /> 1 Copynght 2005 Kleinfelder Inc <br />
