KLEINFELDER <br /> 1 INTRODUCTION <br /> • <br /> Philip Services Corporation (PSC) subcontracted Kleinfelder to perform the April 2005 <br /> quarterly groundwater-monitoring activities at the Earthgrains Baking Companies, Inc <br /> (Earthgrains) facility This report summarizes the results of those activities This report <br /> also includes current and historic summary tables (1-7) and figures (1-6) This quarterly <br /> report is in accordance with the SJCEHD Copies of the report have been submitted to <br /> the Central Valley Region of the California Regional Water Quality Control Board <br /> (CVRWQCB) and to the Underground Storage Tank (UST) Clean Up Fund of the State <br /> Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB) <br /> 1 1 SITE DESCRIPTION <br /> The Earthgrains facility is a bakery products' plant located at 2651 South Airport Way in <br /> Stockton, California 95206 (see Figure 1) The plant straddles Sections 22 and 23, <br /> Township 1 North, Range 6 East of the Mount Diablo Base and Meridian The site has a <br /> general elevation of 17 feet relative to mean-sea-level (msl) <br /> ' The developed portion of the facility consists of approximately seven acres, which is <br /> relatively flat lying, and is primarily covered with asphalt and concrete The main facility <br /> building covers approximately two acres A storm-water drainage ditch (approximately <br /> 1,000-foot long and less than five feet deep) extends westerly from the southwest side <br /> ' of the facility towards a south-flowing drainage canal This ditch empties into the <br /> intermittent Duck Creek, which is located about 900 feet south of the plant Duck Creek <br /> ' is typically dry except during periods of higher precipitation Several shallow (less than <br /> three feet deep) water lines, electrical lines, and storm-water sewer lines transect the <br /> property <br /> 1 2 CHRONOLOGY OF UST-RELATED EVENTS <br /> The facility once had four petroleum-hydrocarbon USTs, which consisted of a 10,000- <br /> gallon diesel tank and two 6,000-gallon gasoline tanks located near the southwest <br /> corner of the main plant building (shown in Figure 2) A 20,000-gallon diesel tank was <br /> located on the east side of the facility (not shown) <br /> C23-4$4517-BOOISAC5R609 Page 1 of 12 September 14, 2005 <br /> Copyright 2005 Kleinfelder Inc <br />
