Remediation System Pilot Test Workplan <br />1 INTRODUCTION <br />On behalf of the Rainbo Baking Company (Rainbo), Burlington <br />Environmental Inc. (Burlington) has prepared this pilot testing <br />work plan for a venting and sparging system at the Earth Grains <br />Division (Earth Grains) facility in Stockton, California. <br />Pilot testing of an air sparging and soil venting remedial <br />alternative at the Earth Grains facility is proposed to evaluate <br />the performance of these technologies as a potential method for <br />remediating hydrocarbon -impacted groundwater at the facility. <br />Following the pilot test a Final Remediation Plan (FRP) that <br />will include results of the pilot test, will be prepared for <br />submittal to the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control <br />Board (Board) and the San Joaquin County Public Health Services <br />Environmental Health Division (County). <br />1.1 Site Description <br />As shown on Figure 1, the Earth Grains facility is located at <br />2651 South Airport Way in Stockton (San Joaquin County), <br />California. This bakery products plant is situated within Sections <br />22 and 23, Township 1 North, Range 6 East of the Mount Diablo Base <br />and Meridian. <br />The developed section of the facility, consisting of <br />approximately seven acres, is relatively flat -lying and almost <br />entirely covered with asphalt or concrete. The main plant building <br />covers about two acres. <br />An approximately 1,000 -foot -long storm -water drainage ditch <br />extends westerly from the facility to an intermittent, south - <br />flowing drainage canal.
