Services Group <br />' Midwest Region <br /> July 6, 1998 <br /> Protect 121382/125997 <br />' Mr Ron Rowe <br /> San Joaquin County Public Health Services <br />' Environmental Health Division-Site Mitigation Umt <br /> 304 E Weber Avenue, Third Floor <br /> P O Box 388 <br />' Stockton, California 95201-0388 <br />' Dear Mr Rowe <br /> Subject: Quarterly Groundwater Monitoring Report <br /> Second Quarter 1998 - The Earthgrains Company <br />' 2651 South Airport Way, Stockton,California <br />' On behalf of The Earthgrams Company (Earthgrams), Philip Services Corporation <br /> (Philip), is submitting this Quarterly Groundwater Monitoring Report for the <br /> subject facility Philip sampled Earthgrain's groundwater monitoring wells for <br /> this quarter's event on May 21, 1998, and submitted those samples to a <br /> California-certified laboratory for analysis A summary of historic underground <br /> storage tank(UST) activities, sample analytical results, and site observations are <br /> contained herein <br /> 1 <br /> BACKGROUND <br />' The facility is a bakery products plant located at 2651 South Airport Way in <br /> Stockton, California(see Figure 1, Attachment 1, Site Location Map) The plant <br />' is situated within Sections 22 and 23, Township 1 North, Range 6 East of the <br /> Mount Diablo Base and Meridian The site has a general surface elevation of <br /> approximately 17 feet relative to mean sea level (MSL) <br />' The developed portion of the facility consists of approximately seven acres, is <br /> relatively flat lying, and is almost entirely covered with asphalt and concrete The <br /> main facility building covers approximately two acres An approximately 1,000- <br /> foot-long stormwater drainage ditch extends westerly from the facility to an <br /> intermittent, south-flowing drainage canal This canal flows into the intermittent <br /> Duck Creek, which is located approximately 900 feet south of the plant <br />' The facility previously had four petroleum hydrocarbon USTs, as shown in <br /> Figure 2 A former 10,000-gallon diesel-fuel tank and two 6,000-gallon gasoline <br /> tanks were located near the southwest corner of the main building A 20,000- <br />' gallon diesel-fuel tank, was located beneath the parking lot on the east side of the <br /> facility <br /> 1 ' <br /> E/121382/125997/2ndQtr98 doc <br /> PHILIP ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES CORPORATION <br />' 210~Nest Sand Bank Road o PO Box 230•Columbia, IL 62236-0230 <br /> (618)281-7173 a(800)733-7173 e Fax(618)281-5120 <br />
