1 <br /> PHILIP <br /> I <br /> Environmental Services Group <br />' North Central Region <br />' December 3, 1997 <br /> Project 1213821125997 <br />' Mr Ron Rowe <br /> San Joaquin County Public Health Services <br /> Environmental Health Division-Site Mitigation Unit <br />' 304 E Weber Avenue, Third Floor <br /> P O Box 388 <br /> Stockton, California 95201-0388 <br /> Dear Mr Rowe <br />' Subject: Quarterly Groundwater Monitoring Report <br /> Fourth Quarter 1997 - The Earthgrams Company <br />' 2651 South Airport Way, Stockton, California <br /> On behalf of The Earthgrams Company (Earthgrains), Philip Services Corporation <br /> (Philip), is submitting this Quarterly Groundwater Monitoring Report for the subject <br /> facility Philip sampled Earthgram's groundwater monitoring wells for this quarter's <br /> event on October 23, 1997, and submitted those samples to a California-certified <br />' laboratory for analysis A summary of historic underground storage tank (UST) <br /> activities, sample analytical results, and site observations are contained herein <br /> BACKGROUND <br />' The facility is a bakery products plant located at 2651 South Airport Way in Stockton, <br /> California(see Figure 1, Site Location Map) The plant is situated within Sections 22 and <br /> 23, Township 1 North, Range 6 East of the Mount Diablo Base and Meridian The site <br /> has a general elevation of approximately 17 feet relative to mean sea level (MSL) <br />' The developed portion of the facility consists of approximately seven acres, is relatively <br /> flat lying, and is almost entirely covered with asphalt and concrete The main facility <br />' building covers approximately two acres An approximately 1,000-foot-long stormwater <br /> drainage ditch extends westerly from the facility to an intermittent, south-flowing <br /> drainage canal This canal flows into the intermittent Duck Creek, which is located <br /> approximately 900 feet south of the plant <br /> The facility previously had four petroleum hydrocarbon USTs, as shown in Figure 2 A <br /> former 10,000-gallon diesel-fuel tank and two 6,000-gallon gasoline tanks were located <br /> PHILIP ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES CORPORATION <br />' 210 West Sand Bank Road a PO Box 230•Columbia, IL 62236-0230 <br /> (618)281-7173•(800)733-7173•Fax(618)281-5120 <br />
