I INTRODUCTION <br /> On behalf of The Earthgrains Baking Company (Earthgrains), Philip Services <br /> Corporation (PSC:) performed groundwater monitoring at the facility located at 2651 <br /> South Airport Way in Stockton, California This service was performed at the <br /> direction of the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD) to <br /> monitor groundwater impacted from a former leaking underground storage tank <br /> (UST) <br /> This report also describes remedial corrective actions PSC has performed to address <br /> the impact from the UST, including air sparging and soil vapor extraction A <br /> description of the site, UST-related activities, PSC's findings and recommendations <br /> are contained herein <br /> 1.1 Site Description <br /> The facility is a bakery products plant located at 2651 South Airport Way in <br /> Stockton, California (see Figure 1) The plant straddles Sections 22 and 23, <br /> Township 1 North, Range 6 East of the Mount Diablo Base and Meridian The <br /> site has a general elevation of approximately 17 feet relative to mean sea level <br /> (MSL) <br /> The developed portion of the facility consists of approximately seven acres, <br /> which is relatively flat lying, and is almost entirely covered with asphalt and <br /> concrete The main facility building covers about two acres An approximately <br /> 1,000-foot-long, shallow, stormwater drainage ditch extends westerly along <br /> the south side of the facility to a south-flowing drainage canal This ditch <br /> empties into the intermittent Duck Creek, which is located about 900 feet <br /> south of the plant <br /> 1.2 Former Underground Storage Tanks and Previous Work <br /> The facility once had four petroleum hydrocarbon USTs A former 10,000- <br /> gallon diesel-fuel tank and two 6,000-gallon gasoline tanks were located near <br /> the southwest corner of the main building in the vicinity of monitoring well <br /> MW-1 (shown in Figure 2) A 20,000-gallon diesel-fuel tank was located on <br /> the east side of the facility <br /> The gasoline tanks near the southwest building corner were permanently <br /> removed in April 1987 The eastern-most gasoline tank had previously been <br /> taken out of service and abandoned in place by removing the fuel and filling it <br /> with sand The western-most gasoline tank failed a tank integrity test in <br /> 4 <br /> Novenlhlr 2002 Groundwater Monitoring And Reniedlatlon Status Report <br /> I h,,I--arthbratns Baking Contp 1ny <br /> 2651 South Airport Way-Stockton Cahlomla <br /> PrLpartd for 111F F 1,RIiu-ttuNSB1tiINrComplN) Preparedby Ph111p'tLrvIC65Corp <br /> II 1!NV\(24QO1 '!1171 821 1 Moron dog DLLciiiber 9 2002 <br />
