P. Chemicals IN REPLY REFER TO SITE CODE: 2042
3437 S. Airport
Stockton, CA
We have completed our review of the Tank Re-excavation Soil Sample iAnalyses and Proposed Further
Excavation dated June 21, 1991 prepared by Weston for the above referenced site.
I
The work plan states that analytical results of the soil samples will be compared to the LUFT Manual
allowable levels. The Leaching Potential Analysis in the LUFT Manual is based on site specific
characteristics. The first of which is minimum depth to groundwater from the soil sample. Depth to
groundwater is based on seasonal hi ground water.
gr high gr In 1986, seasonal high groundwater at this site was
25 to 30 feet. Thus,no points are allowed for this characteristic. A copy of,the leaching potential analysis
and the scoring for this site is enclosed. We would not concur witha closure recommendation unless all
soil samples above 20 feet are non-detect for BTXE and below 10 ppm.TPH-g using the detection limits listed
in Table 3-5 of the LUFT Manual. Since B, T, X, E, or TPH-g were present in each of the previous soil
samples, re-excavation and resampling of the entire tank pit should be done to show that all contaminants
have been removed. j
If you have any questions contact Margaret Lagorio, Senior REHS, at(209)468-3449.
ogi Khanna, M.D., M.P.H. ;{
if
Officer
Laurie A.
