SEP -24,2007 7.51AM PARSONS -925-979-9781 <br />PRELIMINARY SCOPE OF WORD <br />TWO MONITORING `YELLS <br />2" casings, 100 to 110 ft T.D. <br />N0. 6 17 6- _._P, 5 --- <br />OFFSITE SOUTHEAST OF APPLIED AEROSPACE, STOCKTON <br />INTRODUCTION <br />Timing: Need bid or upper -end estimate by close of business Friday 3/24/07 or sooner. <br />Purpose: Client change order; year-end projections. <br />Work Schedule: Planning to install in December 2007. <br />Background: RWQCB has authorized/requested this work to verify downstream edge of <br />VOC groundwater plume. CPT work performed at this location by Gregg D&T in <br />September 2006. <br />Permitting and Utilities: Parsons will obtain County drilling permit and City <br />encroachment permit. Parsons will notify USA. Another subcontractor will perform <br />utility clearance. <br />WORK ITEMS <br />The following items are included in scope of work: <br />• Locations: Surface is asphalt paved (quiet frontage road and residential street). <br />Well I.D_s MVV" -16 and MW -17 shown on Figure 1. <br />• Borehole clearance: Clear drilling location to 5 ft depth and 110% of borehole <br />diameter by hand excavation, vacuum, or "air knife". <br />• Drill to depths of 100 feet and 110 feet by hollow stem auger method. No <br />sampling required. <br />• Install 2 -inch casing. Screened intervals: 85 —100 ft bgs and 100 — 110 ft bgs <br />(25 ft of screen, 185 ft of blank casing). <br />• Materials: Sand = Lonestar #2x12. Bentonite pellet seal = 5 ft, Use centralizers if <br />required by San Joaquin County, Grout to surface. <br />• Surface completion: flush mount in asphalt pavement; round traffic -rated well box <br />• Contain any soil and water in DOT 55 gal drums, move to staging area across the <br />street each day, Transport distance about 1,000 feet. <br />SAFETY <br />Chemical Concentrations: low ppb (TCE and 1,1-DCE) on fringe of plume. <br />Compliant with Parsons - BP National Program requirements. <br />preliminary SCOPE two MWs.DOC 09/24/07 <br />
