4447 S Airport Way, Stockton
On 5/3/09 at 7.00 am I received a call from City of Stockton Fire Department that
there is a tire fire at 4447 S Airport Way, Stockton. I responded to the site. I was
informed by Jeff Smeenk, City of Stockton Fire Department that during the abatement
they have used over 40,000 gallons of water and by the time they are finished he suspects
that the amount could exceed 100,000 gallons. Due to the large amount of water
involved there was a concern to the safety of the fire crew. It was decided that the water
run off will be contained in a area north of the building (truck docking area). The two
businesses involved were Huffo Manufacturing and RCL Manufacturing. Dale Huff was
issued a Notice To Abate by Environmental Health Department to analyze the run off and
dispose accordingly.
Since than there has been another fire at the same location on 5/7/09. I made
another visit to the premises with our staff from the solid waste division(Robert
McClellon—Program Coordinator and Michael Kith—Lead Senior). Pictures for the
5/3/09 and 5/7/09 attached.
i
5/3/09: Tire fire.
