According to the approved work plan scope of work, the soil samples collected at 20,45 and 60
feet bgs from all five well borings were sealed with Teflon*film and plastic end caps, and
transported in an iced cooler with chain-of-custody documentation to Excelchern Environmental
Labs Ex herr a state of California-certified hazardous waste testing laboratory(Certification
#2119). Excelchem analyzed each soil sample for T H-as jet fuel, TP I-a -gasoltrt , benzene,
toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylenes I TE by EPA Method 3021 B/8015M, and for methyl tertiary
butyl ether(MTBE),di-isopropyl ether Il , ethyl tertiary butyl ether TBE)}tertiary amyl methyl
ether(TAME),tertiary butanol(TBA), 1,2-dichloroethane(1,2-DCA), and 1 -c r m tane
by EPA Method 8260B
2,2.3 qr ter itorto Sarni lin and Analysis
n Juin 27 2007,Ramage Environmental monitored and sampled the three existing and five
newly-instar monitoring wells. Depth-to-groundwater was measured to within .01-fes using
water level indicator. Following groundwater level measurements, the wells were purged and
sampled. The sample information field sheets are included in Appendix C.
The wells were purged with a Pump and dedicated disposable tubing until at least three well
casing volumes had been removed and/or after groundwater temperature, pH and electrical
conductivity values had stabilized. Groundwater was sampled'from the wells using disposable
polyethylene bailers and laboratory-supplied containers. Each sample container was transported
in an iced cooler with chain-of-custody documentation to Excelchem.
Excel hern analyzed each sample for TPH-as jet fuel, TI MI-as-gasoline and BTEX by EPA
Method 0218/8015 , and for MTBE, DIP, ETBE, TAME, TBA, 1,2-DCA, and EDB by EPA
Method 82608.
.3 Gare Penetration Testi
On May 29, 2007,to further delineate the soil stratigraphy and to investigate the vertical eaten of
petroleum hydrocarbons bele the groundwater table, Gregg Drilling completed come penetration
testing and depth-discrete soil acrd groundwater sampling at one on-site location(CPT- As
shown on Figure 2 CPT-1 was located on the north end of the former fuel farm. Gregg Drilling's
CPT Site Investigation Report, dated May 31, 2007, Is included'as Appendix E.
8
