The investigation
.,was limited in scope, and further constrained by the existence of a concrete slag located
underground in the area proposed for investigation. A total of two direct push ge probe
soil borings were advanced for the collection of soil and groundwater samples.
Analytical results from the samples evidenced significant petroleum hydrocarbon
contamination to both soil and groundwater.
In June 1997 the lest four remaining UST's were removed from the site. Soil samples
collected from beneath hese teaks also evidenced contamination upon analysis. In
September 1997 a work plan to continue the investigation of the petroleum hydrocarbon
contamination was submitted to PHS/EHD by l arnage Environmental. The work plan
proposes the installation o. 1 ree shallow groundwater monitoring ells bated in such a
.toy as to surround theor er fuel farm area.
