1.0 INTRODUCTION
On behalf of the Stockton Metropolitan Airport, Chevron Products Company,ny, and XG, Sp no
Companies, Rarnage Environmental,,Inc, has prepared this Work Plan, RemedialFeasibility
Testing and Groundwater Monitoring Report, First Qurtter 2009 for submittal to the San Joaquin
County Environmental Health Department (EHD) and the Central Valley regionalNater Quality
Control Board tr o t. On December 10,, 2008, EHD requested that remedial feasibility testing
be initiated at the site.
11 Site Location n a crl t o
The site is an inactive aviation fuel farm located on the northwest corner of the intersection of C.E.
Dixon Street and Lockheed Court within the Stockton Metropolitan Airport property in San Joaquin
County, California (Figure re 1). A total of 20 underground storage tanks (UST) have been removed
from the site. The locations of the former USTs are shown on Figure 2, and a list of the former
tanks is included as Table 1.
1.2 Previous Work
1.2.1 USS"Removals
Between August 1987 and May 1990, sixteen (13) USTs were removed from the site. `twelve of
the US (Tanks 1-12) were 25,000 gallon capacity tanks for the storage of aviation gasoline and
jet fuel, and were anchored to d concrete slab of a depth of approximately 16 feet below ground
surface e bg One of the t1S (Tank 13)was a 12,000 gallon tank<used to store unleaded
gasoline. Three of the UST (Tanks 21, 22, and 3 were 1,000 gallon tanks used to store
aviation gasoline and jet fuel. Soil samples collected from beneath the former USTs indicated that
the sail beneath the fuel farm had been impacted by petroleum hydrocarbons. The soil sample
analytical results are summarized in Table 2.
On Jane 19, 1997, RAH Environmental t l removed the four remaining USTs (TanksCA-1, -2,
CSA-3, and Tank 14). Soil samples collected from beneath these USTs also contained petroleum
hydrocarbons. These sail sample analytical results are also summarized in 'Toby 2.
1,2.2 Prelimina Investigation and Eyaluafion
On March 26, 1096, IT Corporation published Site Investigation Report, which documented the
results of soil and groundwater-grab sampling from two can-site C eoprobe soil borings (S13-3 and
SB-4). "wo additional soil borings (SB-1 and SB-2) were terminated at the buried concrete slab
beneath the former USTs, The boring locations are shown on Figure 2.
4
