PLAN,3.0 REVISED WORK ADDITIONAL SITE INVESTIGATION
The objectives of the proposed scope of work are to further define the lateral and vertical extent of
impacted soil and groundwater beneath the site. To achieve these objectives; Ramage
Environmental proposes to install a total of five additional groundwater liable monitoring ing wells, and
to conduct cone penetration testing (CPT) and depth-discrete soil and groundwater sampling at
one location.
3.1 Project Planning and Permifting
Prior to initiating fieldwork, a site-specific health and safety plana addendum will be prepared
according to 29 CFRt9t9. 20. The health and safety plan will include safety procedures,
chemical hazard information, site safety officers, and a medical emergency location.
To performs the proposed scope of work drilling permits will be obtained from EHD. Since all of
the drilling locations are on the airport property, neither encroachment permits near private property
accessgr meats will be required.
At least two working days prior to the drilling field work, Ramage Environmental will notify EHD s
that inspections can be scheduled. Underground Service Alert will also be acetified so that
member utilities can mark their underground services.
3.2 Groundwater Monitoring Well Installations
To further investigate the distribution of impacted soil, define the lateral extent of impacted
groundwater at the water table, delineate they stratigraphy o shallow subsurface soils, and expand
the groundwater monitoring network rk at the site, five additional groundwater monitoring ring wells will
be installed. As shown on Figure 2,the proposed well locations are positioned to attempt to
surround the known plume of impacted groundwater.
3.2.1 loraitirinell onstructior elo inert sad lure
C-57 licensed contractor will install all of the wells to total depths of approximately 60 feet bgs.;
using a truck-mounted drill rig, and -inch diameter hollow stern augers. The wells will consist o
9 feet of two-inch diameter, Schedule 40, flush-threaded and machine-slatted (0,020-inch) PV
well screen.
8
