Page 3 <br /> Update — Level I Environmental Site Assessment <br /> Raney Reference No 794-002 <br /> ' November 13, 1995 <br /> by more soluble constituents which have not been detected as either specific compounds or inference during the <br /> other analytical procedures performed. <br /> CONCLUSIONS <br /> tPast and present usage of the subject property 3are considered environmentally benign No suspect or otherwise <br /> environmentally notable conditions were observed on the property during our recent site visit The chemical data <br /> indicate neither pesticides nor petroleum hydrocarbons within soil or groundwater samples with the exception of <br /> a trace of oil reported for the groundwater sample In our opinion the trace oil concentration is not indicative <br /> of site conditions and reflects field and/or laboratory procedures <br /> In accordance with San Joaquin County Environmental Health permit requirements, this report will be forwarded <br /> for staff review County staff will comment on our findings Following County directive, the bore-hole soil <br /> within the four on-site drums may be deposited near the boring, and the containers should be properly disposed <br /> or re-used This work is the client's responsibility, though we would be glad to perform this service upon <br /> request <br /> LIMITATIONS <br /> Our services are performed in a manner consistent with the level of care and skill ordinarily exercised by <br /> members of the profession currently practicing in the same locality under similar conditions Our conclusions <br /> and opinions are based on the cited references, our observations and the chemical data No warranty regarding <br /> ' the accuracy of our opinions or conclusions is expressed or implied <br /> STATEMENT OF QUALIFICATIONS <br /> Raney Geotechnical is a geotechnical and environmental engineering firm located in West Sacramento,California <br /> The firm was founded in 1979, current professional staff includes five engineers and three geologists The firm <br /> was involved in environmentally related geotechnical and hydrological studies as early as 1981, shortly after the <br /> enactment of the Superfund legislation The early environmentally driven studies were performed for uranium <br /> and coal mining clients in the mountains west, and included regional geology, groundwater quality, soil <br /> chemistry, surface water hydrology, and geotechnical engineering Underground tank corrective action protects <br /> were undertaken beginning in 1988 The firm has performed more than 100 Phase I and H toxic audits and/or <br /> assessments within the last year, and is used as a consultant by a number of major banks Studies have included <br /> ' heavy industrial and military sites, as well as thousand plus acre properties <br /> I <br /> The firm's principal,John Raney, was educated as a Civil Engineer at the University of the Pacific Mr Raney <br /> received a Master of Science degree in Geotechnical Engineering from U C. Berkeley Prior to founding Raney <br /> Geotechnical, Mr Raney was a project engineer in both the San Francisco and Salt Lake City offices of Dames <br /> & Moore The project manager for this study, Mike Gereghty, was educated in Mechanical Engineering at <br /> Sacramento State University Mr Gereghty was employed by the California Department of Water Resources <br /> ' prior to joining this firm more than 12 years ago, and is both a Registered Civil Engineer and a Registered <br /> Environmental Assessor in the State of California Mr Gereghty and key staff have received certification for <br /> • Hazardous Waste Site Operation training received in accord with 29 CFR 1910 120 <br /> 0838 <br /> 1 <br />
