■ Geotechnical
as
c 0"" 2 4 1995
ENVIRONMENTAL.HEALTH
PERMIT/SERVICES
October 19, 1995
San Joaquin County Public Health Services
Environmental Health Division
Attention: Diane Hinson
445 N. San Joaquin Street
Stockton, CA 95201-388
PROPOSAL
HYDROPUNCH SAMPLING
APN 177-444-17
GATEWAY CENTER
South Airport Way near C.E. Dixon Street
Stockton, California
Reference No, 794-002
On behalf of Noll Manufacturing and Panattoni-Catlin Venture, we plan to perform Hydropunch
soil and groundwater sampling at one location on the subject site. The work is an extension of
a Phase I Environmental Assessment for land acquisition considerations; we do not expect to
encounter contamination.
The subject parcel fronts the west side of Airport Way, about 320 feet south of the proposed
extension of C.E. Dixon Street. The location of the parcel and proposed Hydropunch are shown
on the attached map. Depending on the extent of shallow groundwater from the nearby French
Camp Slough, groundwater is expected between ten and 50 feet below ground surfaces.
The permitted Hydropunch work would be performed by a licensed C57 drilling contractor. Soil
samples would be obtained from the boring at approximate ten-foot depth intervals. Three soil
samples would be selected for chemical testing on the basis of visual and photoionization
detector screening. The samples would be tested for the fallowing: (1) TPH as gasoline and
diesel by the modified EPA 8015 method; (2) volatile aromatic (BTEX) compounds by the EPA
8020 procedure; and, (3) chlorinated priority pollutant pesticides by the EPA 8080 method. A
groundwater sample would be collected via Hydropunch equipment and also would be analyzed
by the above procedures. Following sampling activities the boring would be backfilled with
cement grout. The borehole soil would be placed in D.O.T.-approved drums which would be
sealed, labelled and left on-site pending review of the soil sample data. The containerized
material would be the client's responsibility; we would discuss disposal options following review
of the data.
0821
3140 BEACON BLVD.•WEST SACRAMENTO, CA 95691 0 TELEPHONE 9161375-0434•FAX 9161371-1809
