Chronology
7759 S. Airport Way Stockton CA
(Formerly 5503 S. Airport)
Site Code: 1798
The site is located within the City of Stockton with APN 177-260-05. The property is
owned by San Joaquin Mosquito and Vector Control District and is used as the main
headquarters for the District. Six underground storage tanks were removed and
replaced by four underground storage tanks. Soil contamination was evidenced at
the time of tank removal which was followed by limited excavation. The extent of the
soil contamination was determined through soil borings and the installation of three
monitoring wells. Groundwater contamination above primary or secondary California
Maximum Contaminant Levels was not confirmed. The on site facility well was tested
and contamination was not detected. PHSIEHD recommends the site for closure
based on the limited amount of residual soil contamination, the depth to groundwater,
and the recommendation of California Registered Geologist, Karla Brasaemle, with
Weston at the time of closure evaluation.
1987
3/13187 Four underground storage tanks were removed and soil samples
collected. Contamination was observed associated with the tanks. Soil
excavation was initiated in the areas of obvious soil contamination and
samples collected. (See the tank summary and the Soil Analytical
Results Summary )
418187 Soil excavation was completed and soil samples collected for
confirmation.
5129187 Two additional underground storage tanks were removed and soil
samples collected. Contamination was not detected associated with
these tanks. Note: the tanks that were removed this date have been
identified as UT -1 and UT -2 and were registered as 1798-05 and 1798-
06.
1994
7126194 The soil and groundwater investigation to determine the extent of
contamination was initiated. Seven soil borings were drilled and
Sampled, three of which were converted into monitoring wells.
Monitoring wells Construction:
all screened between 43 and 63 feet.
Soil samples were not collected for laboratory analysis during the
installation of the monitoring wells.
