Airport Way <br />Stockton, CA 95206 <br />Dear Ms. Meays: <br />Mosquito and Vector Control District <br />This letter is in response to your request for changes to the Data Summary and Work Plan, 7759 <br />S. Airport Way, Stockton, California, dated 12 May 1995. Based on your concerns expressed <br />in our 31 May 1995 telephone conversation, WESTON proposes the following changes to the <br />Data Summary and Recommendations (Subsection 2.4) of the work plan: <br />Tanks 1 and 2 <br />As requested, the hypothetical extent of total extractable petroleum hydrocarbon (TPHe, <br />equivalent to total petroleum hydrocarbons as diesel) in soil has been indicated on a revised <br />Figure 5. Furthermore, based on the extent of the TPHe indicated on the revised Figure 5, the <br />hypothetical volume of petroleum impacted soil is 53,200 fO. Based on an average TPHe <br />concentration of 5.39 mg/kg, an assumed soil density of 95 lb/ftp, and the hypothetical volume <br />of petroleum impacted soil, the hypothetical total mass of TPHe present in soil is 32 lb. <br />During our conversation you expressed concern that WESTON had indicated in an earlier report <br />that the TPHe detected near the weed oil tanks was a laboratory contaminant and that WESTON <br />was now interpreting the detected TPHe as a site contaminant. I have examined the 21 October <br />1994 Soil and Groundwater Investigation report and have not been able to find any mention of <br />laboratory contaminants in the report. Please let me know if you have any other reports or <br />correspondence from WESTON that discuss TPHe as a possible laboratory contaminant. <br />In our conversation you also mentioned that side wall samples were not collected during the tank <br />L:1PRO) EGTSLSAN)OQ4SrCECODE.
