AIRPORT WAY <br /> STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA <br /> 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> This report presents information needed for closure of the San Joaquin County Mosquito and <br /> Vector Control District (SJCMVCD) underground storage tank (UST) site located at 7759 S <br />' Airport Way, Stockton, California (Figure 1) as requested by the San Joaquin County Public <br /> Health Services Environmental Health Division (EHD) in a letter dated 6 February 1996 The <br />' information presented in this report includes a site description, initial and present site conditions, <br /> and a summary of analytical data The results of methyl t-butyl ether (MTBE) sampling <br /> requested by the EHD is presented <br /> 2.0 SITE DESCRIPTION AND HISTORY <br /> The site is located at an elevation of 20 ft above mean sea level (MSL) with very little slope <br /> (Figure 1) French Camp Slough, the nearest surface water body, is located 1,500 ft west and <br /> southwest of the site (Figure 1) Site buildings, streets, and subsurface utilities are presented <br /> on Figures 2 and 3 <br /> 1 ' <br /> Two water production wells are located within 2,000 ft of the site (Figure 1) Both wells are <br /> owned by the City of Stockton Water Department Well 1, located approximately 1,000 ft <br /> north, is used as a water supply well for the City of Stockton Well 2, located approximately <br /> 2,000 ft northeast, is no longer in use and will be destroyed (personal conversation, Lawern <br /> Temee, 2 April 1996) Construction details for Well 1 are not available (personal conversation, <br /> Lawern Temee, 2 April 1996) A water supply well is located on the site (Figures 2 and 3) <br /> In 1987, the SJCMVCD removed six underground storage tanks (USTs) and petroleum impacted <br />' soil from the Stockton service yard Confirmation soil samples were collected from the bottom <br /> of the excavations for the six tanks (Figure 2) The tanks were removed by Jim Thorpe Oil, <br />' Inc Figure 2 presents the former locations of the removed USTs Table 1 presents the volumes <br /> and contents of the removed and existing tanks <br /> Tanks 1 and 2 were replaced with 8,000 gallon tanks (Tanks 7 and 8) The new tanks were used <br /> for storing Golden Bear Oil (GB 11) Tanks 7 and 8 are no longer in use and will be removed <br /> Tank 3 was replaced with a 6,000 gallon tank (Tank 6) that currently contains unleaded gasoline <br /> LTROJWrSVSANJOQ\SJCMVCD 1 6 May 1996 <br />
