' GeologicalTechnics Inc. Page 3
Bank of Stockton(Airport)
' Project No. 827.2
October 17, 1999
' The OVM is a portable photo ionization detector that uses a 10.0 eV lamp to detect
compounds with ionization potential below 10.0 eV (hydrocarbon range). A boring log
' providing sediment description using the USCS and field observations will be maintained by
a professional geologist working under the supervision of a registered geologist.
' 2.2 Groundwater Sample Collection
Groundwater is not expected to be encountered, so groundwater sampling is not proposed.
' 2.3 Laboratory Analyses
The soil samples will be submitted to Sherwood Laboratories of Hilmar (State Certified
' Laboratory#1400). They will be analyzed for:
• Total Extractable Petroleum Hydrocarbons as diesel, kerosene, motor oil (TEPH-D,
K, MO)by EPA method 3540/8015 (m)
' • BTEX by EPA method 8020
TPH-G by EPA method 8015(m)
The detection limits for these compounds are listed below. A Chain of Custody will be
completed for all samples collected and tracked to ensure sample integrity.
' Detection I tmits: BTEX - , >
MO I
of (ug Kg >
' 3.0 SCHEDULE & REPORTING
The drilling is tentatively scheduled for November 3, 1999. To meet this time frame, we
need the work plan to be approved and a boring permit issued by October 28, 1999.
Ray Kablanow of GTI will supervise the project. A copy of the report will be forwarded to
SJC PHS/EHD.
