This will include <br /> using a direct-reading phot ionization detection meter(Photovac Microtip 1000 or equivalent)to monitor <br /> the concentrations of orgar is vapors in the work area. Organic vapors will be monitored periodically during <br /> the collection of soil samples. The meter will be calibrated at the start of each work period with isobutylene <br /> gas. Total organic vapor rr casurements wil l be used to determine the appropriate Ievels of respiratory <br /> protection,and identify conditions that would require site evacuation. Total organic concentrations in the <br /> worker's breathing zone in excess of 20 PPM will require Level C personal protective equipment. Total <br /> organic concentrations in eic worker's breathing zone in excess of 100 PPM will require evacuation of the <br /> work area until the organic concentrations subside to below 100 PPM. <br /> 402-331-9963 �_S <br />
