Figure 1 (attached) shows the locations of
the 11 sites. The work plan describes the historical activities at each of the sites and proposes to drill
borings at each site in order to sample soil and groundwater. Temporary wells will be constructed or a
hydropunch-type sampling device will be used to obtain grab groundwater samples at each boring
location. Soil and groundwater will be analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons measured as gasoline
and diesel, benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, xylenes and glycol compounds.
The work plan is hereby approved. In accordance with the proposed schedule, technical reports for the
11 sites will be submitted by 16 May 1997. Please provide at least 72 hours notice prior to field
activities in case I wish to observe the field methods or obtain split samples.
If you have any questions, you may call me at (916) 255-3077.
L:::D
J?EL WEISS
Associate Engineering Geologist
JMW:jmw/isb
Attachment
cc: Glenn County Department of Environmental Health Services,Willows
Sacramento County Department of Environmental Management, Hazardous Materials Division,
Sacramento
San Joaquin County Department of Public Health Services, Stockton
Solano County Department of Environmental Health Management, Fairfield
Sutter County Department of Environmental Health , Yuba City
Tehama County Department of Environmental Health, Red Bluff
Yolo County Department of Environmental Services,Woodland
