Ms.Mary Serra Page 5 of 6 August 10,2004 Based on the results of the soil and groundwater investigations,remediation efforts and the well survey,PG&E is requesting NFA status for the McMullin Dehydrator Station. No Further Action Rationale Groundwater Post-Remediation monitoring shows no current detectable amounts of BTEX compounds in any of the monitoring wells and no TPH in groundwater except at PZ-3. Analytical results for PZ-3 show levels of TPH-d detected to be fluctuating at low concentrations naturally over time. The historical analytical results for these events are presented in Tables 1 and 2.The preliminary analytical results from the July 2004 sampling event are included as Attachment 1. Soil Following excavation,analytical results from side and bottom wall verification samples show BTEX or TPH in soils were below remediation action levels and 13 of the samples were non-detect for all analytes tested. Verification soil sample results are included in Table 3. Well Survey A well survey conducted in October 2003 by ATC Associates shows that there is one domestic well,identified as a dairy well(ATC,1996)approximately 200 feet northeast of the site. There are no irrigation,municipal or industrial wells within a 2,000 foot radius of the site (Figure 3). Based upon the results of soil remediation results,continuous groundwater monitoring and the well survey,PG&E is requesting NFA status for the McMullin Dehydrator Station. The Checklist of Required Data for No Further Action Requests at Underground Tank Sites is included as Appendix C. The remaining Monitoring well(MW-2R) on site will be abandoned in accordance with the guidelines set forth in the Department of Water Resources California Well Standards Bulletin 74-90 and under the direction of the Colusa County Health Department.
