The McMullin Dehydrator Station (Site) is located
on Airport Way and Perrin Road, approximately two miles south of Manteca in San Joaquin
County within Assessors Parcel Number (APN) 257-030-010.
The attached Memo to Program Manager describes the rationale for considering a Conditional
No Further Action Determination. In summary, remedial action at the site consisted of
excavating soil that was contaminated with petroleum hydrocarbons. The maximum
concentrations of gasoline and diesel remaining in soil are 20 mg/kg and 7.7 mg/kg,
respectively. Diesel contamination in the groundwater is below detectable concentrations in all
wells except PZ-3, which is fluctuating at or below the water quality objective of 100 ug/L.
Regional Water Board staff concurs with PG&E that the remaining levels of gasoline and
diesel in soil and groundwater do not pose a threat to human health, the environment, or
waters of the State.
PG&E has satisfactorily completed site investigation and remedial action, achieved applicable
remedial action standards and objectives, and a permanent remedy has been accomplished at
the McMullin Dehydrator Station. Therefore, no further action is required. Interested parties
were given a 30-day comment period to respond to this proposed Conditional No Further
Action Determination. No comments were received. This No Further Action Determination is
not effective until after PG&E submits the necessary documentation of the destruction of the
monitoring wells, in accordance with all applicable County and State requirements. Once proof
of appropriate destruction has been received, Regional Water Board staff will send written
confirmation of the effective date of this Determination.
California Environmental Protection Agency
01 Recycled Paper
