INTRODUCTION AND SCOPE OF NVORK
In accordance Nvith the request of Mr. Bill Fisk, : (hwnced GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (AGE) has
prepared the enclosed Closure Summary Report (CSR) for the site located at 30836 Airport Way
in Tracy. California (the site). The objective of the investigation v,-as, to determine the lateral and
vertical extents of hydrocarbon-impacted soil and ground water in preparation for site closure
certification. The scope of work included the advancement of six soil probe borings and the
collection of soil and ground water samples. The location of the site is illustrated on Figure 1
Location .Vaj). A plan of the site is illustrated on Figure 2 - Site Plan.
The CSR is prepared in accordance with San Joaquin County Public Health Services _
I'nvironmcrntal Health Division (PHS-EHD) and Central Valley Regional Water Equality Control
Board guidelines for investigation of underground storage tank (LEST) sites.
2.0. BACKGROUND/PREVIOUS INVESTIGATIONS
2.1. SITE DESCRIPTION
The site is located in an agricultural/rural residential area of southern San Joaquin County (Figure
1). The property is located at the southeast corner of the intersection of Airport Vay and Kasson
Road. One building is currently situated on the property and is utilized as a restaurant and market
(FI(Ture 2).
2.2. UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANK REMOVAL
It is our understanding that the property was operated as gasoline service station from the early
1960s to the late 1980s. 'Pyo 10,000-gallon gasoline underground storage tanks (LISTS) v ere
relnoved from the site in October 1989. The LISTS were rennoved from a single excavation, located
northwest of the building. Associated product delivery lines and a dispenser ishind Nvere also
concurrently removed with the tanks.
Total petroleum li,drocarhoiis quanti.fzed as gasoline (TPH-g) and volatile aromatics (benzene,
toluene, ethyl benzene and xylenes: BTI &X) were detected in soil samples collected from the 1JS`f
excavation and product line areas at concentrations up to 1,200 and 115,000 mg/k.g (milli,>rarns per
kilogram Cr parts per milhol: ppm), respectively. Lased upon the analytical results, the PHS-EHD
. required further investigation to dclinLate the lateral and vertical extent of the hydrocarbon impacted
soil. Results of the soil samples colli-cted during the UST removal are summarized on Table 1.
